I'm not sure if Holy Week causes you to reflect like it does me, but I always go into this week with a sense of somberness. I know that next Sunday we celebrate Jesus' victory over death, but we will first have to be reminded of the cost of that victory.
When Peter reminds us that God paid a ransom for us, he also puts that ransom into persepctive..."it was not paid with mere silver and gold...It was with the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
I am so thankful for God's love, for Jesus' obedience, for the help of the Holy Spirit and for the gift of the Scriptures. Particularly this week, let us carefully and intentionally prepare for Good Friday (hope to see you at the Tenebrae) and for celebrating Jesus' resurrection!
